2002 Viognier Vogelzang Vineyard The 2002 vintage from Vogelzang Vineyard was spectacular! The vines stressed, ripening the fruit perfectly, yielding grapes with incredible balance. This balance of ripe flavors and acid created a deliciously aromatic Viognier. Floral notes of white flowers and orange and lime blossoms, cinnamon, and ripe apricot flavors with a steely mineral note. The richness in the mid-palate comes from full barrel fermentation in seasoned French oak barrels. It’s balanced by good acidity, and a long citrusy finish Very limited. Vineyard: Vogelzang Vineyard Los Olivos, CA Blend: 100% Viognier Cooperage: 100% Barrel fermented in 3-4 year old French Oak, aged on the lees for 10 months.
